The key function of emergency planning in NHS Leeds is to provide a capability for our organisation to participate in a multi-agency response to a major incident, while at the same time to continue to provide critical services to the local community.
This capability is underpinned by NHS Leeds' Emergency Management Arrangements (the Major Incident Plan) that provides a framework for training, exercising and responding to natural or man-made disasters.
NHS Leeds works closely with a number of emergency organisations including Fire and Rescue, the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, police, the Local Authority and other partners in the West Yorkshire Local Resilience Forum.
As a member of the Local Resilience Forum (The West Yorkshire Multi–Agency Planning Group) NHS Leeds will:
