The Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA) is a process of looking at how well public services are working together to improve the quality of life for local people.
For the first time ever, CAA will see local public services held collectively to account for their impact on the experiences of local residents. This means that it will cut across councils, health bodies, police forces, fire and rescue services and others responsible for public services. These bodies will be expected to work in partnership to tackle the challenges facing their communities.
CAA and NHS Leeds
NHS Leeds is integrated into the CAA process, not just through the organisational assessment (Annual Health Check/Periodic Review), but also through the mechanisms of the Leeds Strategic Plan (LSP) and the Local Area Agreement (LAA). NHS Leeds is one of the key partners in these processes and leads on, or supports delivery of, many of the objectives described within them.
The plans describing the contributions of the full range of partners and can be found in full detail at: www.leedsinitiative.org/lsp/
