The Leeds Dental Advice Line (DAL) – 0800 298 5787 - will be visiting sites across Leeds to promote the thousands of extra NHS Dental places available in Leeds.

An additional 6,000 NHS dental places have been made available in Leeds after heavy investment into local dental services. NHS Leeds is currently increasing dental services in the area to make it easier for people to find, choose and see a dentist in Leeds.

Events in Armley, Wortley Beck and Horsforth, will see Leeds Dental Advice Line staff promoting NHS dental services across Leeds. The events will also provide members of the public the opportunity to register with the DAL. Once registered with the DAL, the service will try and find an NHS dentist near to where they live or work.

Simon Boycott, Dental Advice Line coordinator for NHS Leeds says: “NHS Leeds is determined to ensure that local dental services meet the current and future needs of patients. NHS Leeds has invested heavily in its dental services in the last few years which has helped to provide tens of thousands of NHS dental places across the city. This will resolve the difficulties that some patients have in accessing quality dental healthcare in their local area”

“We will run a number of events over the coming weeks to allow the public an opportunity to register with the DAL and to find out more about NHS dental services in Leeds."

Over 20,000 extra NHS dental places have been made available in Leeds over the last twelve months and the latest places will see an increase in services in the west of the city.

Steve Laville, Dental Contract Lead for NHS Leeds added: “Finding and registering with a NHS dentist couldn’t be easier thanks to the Leeds Dental Advice Line. The service will make every effort to find a dentist which is the most convenient to where they live or work. Anyone who wishes to register with a NHS dentist in Leeds can do so by contacting the Dental Advice Line on 0800 298 5787. Alternatively they can complete the online dental registration form, which can be found on www.leeds.nhs.uk.”
