Pharmacies in Leeds are providing extended opening hours over Easter and May Day bank holiday period.
Local community pharmacies can provide advice on common illnesses and the best medicines to treat them. By visiting your pharmacist as a first port of call it can help free up GP appointments.
Pharmacists are highly qualified professionals and have in-depth knowledge about prescription and over-the-counter medicines. Most pharmacies now have a quiet area away from other customers where you can speak to the pharmacist more privately.
Pharmacists can also provide health and lifestyle advice and direct you to other sources of support, such as stop smoking and sexual health services.
Robbie Turner Chief Executive Officer, Community Pharmacy West Yorkshire, says: “Pharmacists across Leeds are trained to treat minor illnesses. They can provide advice and help direct you to further help if that's what you need. There are pharmacies open throughout Leeds over the Easter weekend and every Bank Holiday."
Over the bank holiday period local pharmacies are open on an emergency rota. At least one pharmacy is open in each area of Leeds for a few hours each day.
