In this section of our site we provide you with further information on some of our programmes, initiatives and campaigns that are designed to improve the health of children living in Leeds.
Some of the local initiatives we are working on include:
- encouraging mothers to breastfeed their babies
- tackling alcohol and substance misuse among young people as well as the wider population
- our efforts to tackle the danger caused by second hand smoke, including our groundbreaking smoke free homes programme (you can sign the smoke free homes pledge online).
We also link in with national campaigns such as Change4Life. The programme aims to encourage people to “Eat Well, Move More (and) Live Longer” in a bid to reduce and prevent obesity and in turn lead to better life chances for children and young people in the future.
