Quality Standards for Care Homes

Leeds Quality Standards for Care Homes and Nursing

The Leeds Quality Standards for Care Homes with Nursing was introduced in April 2010. NHS Leeds will be piloting new quality standards in partnership with Leeds City Council through 2010-2011. The Quality Standards are mandatory for care homes with nursing.

The Quality Standards cover a wide range of key areas including health-specific topics as follows:

  • nutrition and hydration;
  • end of life care;
  • tissue viability;
  • continence;
  • infection control;
  • safeguarding; and
  • medicines management.
