Mental health campaign

Talk about your mental health problem
Talking about mental health helps tackle discrimination

Throughout June and July NHS Leeds is running a campaign to try and
raise awareness of mental health issues and how to recognise the
symptoms as well as raising awareness of the different resources that are
available to help.

Often the fact that it’s difficult to talk about mental health problems can be one of the hardest parts of having a mental illness. It can lead to the loss of friendships, feeling isolated, not seeking help and slower recovery. It doesn’t have to be this way. Talking about mental health can strengthen friendships, aid recovery, break down stereotypes and take the taboo out of something that affects us all.

Whether it’s fear or awkwardness about talking to someone we know about their mental health problem – or talking about our own mental health problem, reluctance to talk about mental health doesn’t help anyone. We want to get people talking about mental health. So find tips here to start your conversation and help end mental health prejudice here.
