Local services - Christmas and New Year

Pharmacies

A number of pharmacies are open (PDF document) over the Christmas and New Year holiday period.

Any pharmacy not listed will be closed over the Christmas and New Year holiday.

GP services

Please note GP practices will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

A limited number of GP practices will be open on Boxing Day for urgent appointments. If you need to see a GP on Boxing Day please see if your GP practice is open to arrange an appointment.

If you require urgent GP services and your GP is not open please call the West Yorkshire Urgent Care Service on 0345 605 9999. If you ring your GP practice and it is closed a recorded messages will provide you with contact details for NHS Direct (0845 46 47). Alternatively why not pop into your local pharmacy who could give you the healthcare advice you need - see opening times above.

Minor injury units and walk-in centres

Minor injury units and walk-in centres will be open as usual over this period. For non-emergency care they should be your first point of call. Find out more about the services they offer and where they are based by clicking here.

Dental services

If you need urgent dental care or treatment over the bank holiday please call 0345 605 9999.

If you live in West Yorkshire and need to get urgent advice and treatment you can also call the West Yorkshire Urgent Care Service on 0345 605 99 99.
