Using the Site

Text only / low graphics version

If you have a slow internet connection or do not need the images to be displayed you can choose the text only option by clicking on the link at the top of the page.

Resizing text

We have set up an option on our site where you can choose the text size you require. This can be done by clicking on one of the 'A' letters towards the top of this page (next to the menu option 'how to use this site'.

Alternatively you can choose to change the size of your text within your web browser. This will then apply to every website you visit, not just our site.

If your mouse has a scroll wheel you can, in most browsers, increase and decrease the size of text by holding down the CTRL key and using the scroll wheel on your mouse.

Internet Explorer, Mozilla based browsers such as Firefox and WebKit based browsers such as Safari on the Mac and Chrome on the PC have menus to allow you to set the text size manually:

  • Mozilla Firefox: choose View>Zoom>Zoom in or Zoom out (CTRL + or CTRL -)
  • Internet Explorer 4: choose View>Internet Options>Accessibility and check the ignore font sizes specified on web pages option. Click OK, OK, and then you can alter the text size using the View>Text Size option
  • Internet Explorer (version 5 and later): choose Tools>Internet Options>Accessibility and check the ignore font sizes specified on web pages option. Click OK, OK, and then you can alter the text size using the View>Text Size option.
  • All other browsers should be able to resize the text directly from the menu bar. Please see your specific browser help pages if you are having difficulty.
